What is Diploma in Interior Design - FT?

The Fast Track Diploma in Interior Design is a compact, high-intensity program designed to take you from zero to hero in the shortest time possible — without compromising depth. Structured around three pillars — Technical, Practical, and Creative — the course covers everything a working interior designer needs: from reading a brief and selecting materials to drawing construction layouts on AutoCAD and producing photorealistic renders in SketchUp+Enscape.

Interior Design is one of India's fastest-growing creative professions ₹74B+ Global interior design market projected by 2034. 12% Annual growth rate of India's real estate sector — primary driver of demand. 5+ Sectors hiring interior designers: residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, healthcare.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — and growing fast. India's real estate sector is one of the largest in the world. The surge in premium housing, commercial office fit-outs, retail spaces, hospitality, and healthcare design has created a sustained demand for trained interior design professionals. Starting salaries range from ₹3–5 LPA, growing to ₹10–15 LPA with experience.

Absolutely. The course starts from fundamentals — colour theory, sketching, concept development — and progresses to professional-grade software like AutoCAD and SketchUp. No prior experience is required.

The program is designed to maximize learning density. Theory is delivered concisely, and the majority of hours are spent on practical application — live project handling, site visits, and market visits. You graduate work-ready, not just certified.

Yes. Live project handling is a core part of the program. You'll work on actual residential and commercial briefs, producing 2D layouts, 3D renders, moodboards, and material boards — all portfolio-ready deliverables.

Module-Wise Curriculum

A progressive journey — from the fundamentals of space planning and design principles to advanced 3D visualization, material styling, client interaction, and real-world interior projects.

Module 01 Colour Theory
  • Understand how colour shapes perception, mood, and spatial experience. Learn colour wheels, harmonies, warm/cool palettes, and their psychological effects in interior contexts — from choosing the right wall paint to specifying upholstery and accessories.
Module 02 Interior Concept & Graphics
  • Learn how shapes, forms, and proportions translate into furniture and spatial compositions. Develop your design vocabulary through sketching, graphic representation, moodboards, and concept presentations that communicate ideas to clients.
Module 03 Study of Materials
  • Materials define how a space looks, feels, and lasts. Learn to select and specify wood, laminate, veneer, marble, tiles, granite, glass, and paint — understanding their properties, applications, and how to present them in a material board.
Module 04 • 05 Residential & Commercial Space Planning
  • Master the full process of designing spaces for people — client profiling, moodboards, space planning, furniture layout design, and lighting strategies for both home and commercial environments like offices, boutiques, cafés, and showrooms.
Module 06 Interior Service System
  • Understand the technical systems hidden within walls and ceilings — electrical layouts, plumbing, drainage, and false ceiling designs. Know how these systems affect spatial planning and coordinate with contractors effectively.
Module 07 Costing & Estimation
  • Turn design vision into financial reality. Learn to prepare BOQs, estimate costs, acquire projects, manage budgets, and execute with the four pillars every client cares about: Cost, Quality, Time, and Service..
Modules 08 • 09 Interior Softwares
  • Two industry-standard tools that every working interior designer must know. AutoCAD for precise 2D technical drawings, and SketchUp with Enscape for stunning 3D models and photorealistic renders that win clients.
Module 09 Vaastushastra
  • Apply the ancient science of Vastu to modern design. Learn cardinal directions, the five elements, zone planning for optimal energy flow, the traditional Vastu mandala, and entrance placement — valued deeply by clients across India.
Module 10 Interior Styling
  • Go beyond construction and into the art of dressing a space. Explore styling philosophies across Japandi, Organic, Rustic, and Eclectic styles — and learn how to layer accessories, textiles, art, and lighting to bring a space to life.

Two years. Every skill a professional interior designer needs.

From drawing a room by hand to rendering it in photorealistic 3D — and pitching it to a client with confidence.

DM Gurukul
गुरुकुल — Where the Teacher Lives

The ancient Gurukul system was never just about subject knowledge. Students lived alongside their Guru, absorbing life skills, wisdom, and character alongside their craft. At Design ManiaaC, we’ve reimagined this philosophy for the modern creative professional.

"We don’t just teach interior design — we shape designers who can think spatially, lead projects, build trust with clients, and create spaces that genuinely change how people experience their lives."

In a world where technical skills are commoditised, what separates great interior designers from average ones is how they think, empathise with clients, and make confident design decisions under real-world pressure. Our Gurukul curriculum layers three pillars — Creative Thinking, Skill Building, and Human Growth — into every semester, not as extras, but as essentials.

Creative Thinking

We train the mind before the hands. Through structured ideation sessions, spatial problem-solving challenges, and client brief interpretation exercises, students learn to decode what a client actually needs — not just what they say they want — and translate that into compelling, liveable design.

Skill Development

Beyond technical tools, we build the professional skills studios and clients actually value — specification writing, vendor negotiation, site supervision, budget management, client presentation, and the ability to defend and iterate on your design decisions with confidence and clarity.

Team Building

Interior design is a deeply collaborative profession. Every real project involves architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients working as one. We simulate this reality through collaborative studio projects, cross-discipline critiques, and real stakeholder presentation exercises built into every semester.

Why We Keep Batches Small

A large classroom cannot deliver a Gurukul experience. With a limited intake every batch, each student receives direct mentorship, personalised project feedback, and genuine attention from faculty — not just a seat in a lecture hall.
