VFX Summit & Awards 2024 honours champions of Indian VFX industry

The VAM Awards pay tribute to visionaries who captivate audiences around the globe, with their work.

The VAM awards are entry-driven. Meaning, the categories are judged on the basis of the entries received for the same. For instance, there can be better work done in a specific category but if a studio or an individual did not send in their names, it will not be considered.

The jury members for the awards were AVGC Forum, FICCI chairman and Punnaryug Artvision founder Ashish Kulkarni; Whistling Woods International Vice president & CTO Chaitanya Chinchlikar; ILM director of production/ executive VFX producer Elayaraja Krishnan; creative director / VFX supervisor / AI enthusiast Rupal Rawal; AnimationXpress founder, chairman, editor-in-chief Anil Wanvari; Tonic Technology founder & CEO Ashay Kshirsagar; Image Engine BG Prep head Carlos Conceição; Tippett Studio executive creative director & senior VFX supervisor;  director & VFX supervisor Fred Raimondi; Pixel Magic VFX supervisor & producer Raymond McIntyre Jr. and production technology veteran VK Gupta.

This year a special segment of VAM Awards – Women in VFX Awards – recognised and celebrated the achievements of women who have made significant contributions across various roles, including creative, business, and human resources, within the VFX landscape. The women were shortlisted based on recommendations from industry leaders.

Also, in another segment the industry remembered legendary VFX supervisor Tim McGovern for his Contribution to Indian VFX industry. His sudden demise had left an irreplaceable vacuum in the global visual effects industry. Credited for his films like Tron, Speed, Ghost and the Darkness, Equilibrium, Dunkirk and Oscar-winning First Man, Tim McGovern’s work will remain as case studies for filmmakers.
